The name of the Union is Ekhlaspur under the Upazila of Motlob North. It is in the district of Chandpur. Total area of the Union is 8697 acre. Two famous river of the country, Padma and Meghna are flowing into this Union. Actually Meghna divides this Union to East Ekhlaspur and West Ekhlaspur. East Ekhlaspur is consisted with the village of Ekhlaspur, South Ekhlaspur, Hasimpur and Noya Nagar. West Ekhlaspur consisted with the village of Char Kasim, Soshtho Khondo, Boro Char and Khuner Char. Total population of the Union is 21,183 (male 11,291 and female 9,892). Total household of this Union is 3,371. Various religious, cultural and occupational types of people are living in this Union with peacefully and harmony. The situation of law and order is very well. Sanitation situation is very well. There are many scholars have born in this Union and many of them engaged with the Government and Non-Government Institutions in the country and abroad.
